Snow in Alabama

One of the advantages of marrying an engineer, is to have snow on my green front yard at any time I wish. Of course, under certain conditions:). The grass is green on the neighboring lawns, but ours is covered by three feet of snow. It is hilarious to see people’s reactions when they drive by. The gentlemen in UPS attire circled about three times around our cul-de-sac finally getting out and touching it to see if it was real. He eventually made a snow ball to take home, obviously as proof of what he saw. Some ask where we keep the snow during the Summer time. I, to further mystify the event, say, “in our basement.” My husband just laughs. For those who still have questions, it is actually a highly pressurized snow making machine that makes real snow when the temperature is cold enough.

My music & bookshelf

Some of you wanted to know more about the music I have on my website, which prompted me to write about music I listen and books I read. I am absolutely a “light instrumental” kinda girl:) So, if you asked about the music, you must have been too, in love with jazz. This year I have stumbled upon one of the most amazing CDs of all time (in my opinion), ”My One and Only Thrill”  by Melody Gardot. She has one of the most beautiful voice I have ever heard and is a gorgeous talented singer, musician and song writer.
